what have we been up to lately?
Watching excessive amounts of the following...

Going outside to rescue dog from around the tree every 3 seconds..
.
Playing a never ending game of indoor fetch...

Spenser has been reading...

While Justin is working...

And of course, we still have LOTS to paint...

I have a serious case of winter blues today... thank goodness we are going skiing this weekend and Brecky's Aunt Shelley + Grandma/Grandpa Atwood are coming to visit!

haus maus
Haus Maus. New favorite blog or pesky rodent looking for grub in my kitchen?! The answer: BOTH!!
A few weeks ago I found the cutest blog called Haus Maus (House Mouse). Its about an American living as an expat in her German husband's hometown of Hannover, Germany. I love her design ideas and her blog reminds me of our time in Brussels.
A few hours ago I discovered my own little haus maus- except I am not impressed in the least with this kind of haus maus. While watching TV last night, I heard a noise coming from the kitchen so I turned around to see what it was. Nothing. The next time I looked, there he was, inches from the oven. I whispered soft but urgently to Justin, "WAKE UP! WE HAVE A MOUSE!!!!!!!!" He turned around and quickly spotted him before he ran behind the stove. GREAT, we have a mouse!! I know this is certainly not the worse thing to ever happen to me, but growing up we NEVER had mice in our house. Even when I lived in a 50 year old house, there were no mice around. My aunts, however, had mice that would frequent their house, and I vividly remember not liking it.
I finally forced myself into the kitchen this morning to make breakfast (thanks for waking us up at 5:30 today Breck! We desperately need to get you off farm time). On the counter I noticed a lovely mouse dropping, GREAT.
In all honestly we knew there was a possibility of mice. Justin saw one in the garage a couple months ago and I have been worried we would have one ever since. I am pretty confident the mouse recently got in because there has been no evidence of mouse sightings until now.
Hear this little mousey wousey, you better leave NOW or else you're going to die. period.
For my sister, of course.

All My Adventures
All My Adventures= My diary circa 1997
Found this amongst a large pile of crap (aka precious childhood memorabilia) my Mom forced me to take home last weekend...
I am leaving everything in original format. Enjoy.
Thursday, June 13
We are going to California and first we are going to Missouri to drop of Lad. off.
Friday, June 14
We were supposed to be in Albuquerque, New Mexico insted we stayed in Amarillo, Texas. We stayed at the Radison Inn. We ate at The Big Teaxaen. If you could eat a 72oz steak in one hour or less you could get it free if not you had to pay $60.00 dollars.
Saturday, June 15
We left Amarillo and made it to Flagstadd and stayed at the Hampton Inn It was really nice. We went swimming to.
Sunday, June 16
Today was fathers day dad forgot I did to till I saw it on the TV. (insert laughter). Were going to Grand Canyon and the Hoover Dam in Nevada and we took a tour at Hoover Dam the we made it to LAS Vegas and stayed at Ceasers Plalece and went to Planet Hollywood. I got a t-shirt for part of my birthday.
Monday, June 17
We are at my Uncle Jhonys house and they have 3 dogs name Dino, Dina and Shena. The have a nice house. My Aunt Sandy has 3,000 pigs in her house but there not all out. (insert more laughter)
Tuesday, June 18
Tuesday morning we took off for my Aunt Florencies and uncle Mells house we got to go around the in the Golf Cart. We just kind of slouch around that day.
Wendsday, June 19
Were still at there house and were going to to Universel Studios they were filming a Christmas show with Aranold SZanager (hahahaha) and two others I can't remember the name but we saw the Aranold stunt double.
Thursday, June 20
Hey! Today its my birhtday 9 atlast. We going to go to Disney Land. We went through It's A Small World. We got Disney Land pens mys purple. At the end of the day the had a light parode. I almost all of the Disney Movies. And were still at aunt Florenice and uncle Mells house.
The End. (I am guessing I was so distraught over dropping my camera in the Fisherman's Wharf Bay the next day that I no longer felt like journaling. It was a tragic day for those of you who remember me crying at the top of my lungs, in public.)

Merry Christmas
A mini Christmas recap...
Justin, Breck and I loaded up in the Pathfinder on Tuesday night and drove to DM in attempt to beat the "big storm". While Iowa received some snow, the storm was definitely overrated (or so we thought, we came home to 18" in MSP!) We were able to spend 5 glorious days at home with friends and family and it couldn't have been any better. We went to church, opened awesome presents, scratched off lottery tickets, went out with friends, took a million pictures, ate yummy food and spent time with the people we love the most!
A few pictures from the week, in no particular order..
Our driveway on Sunday night when we returned home.. yikes!

Our new door!! I couldn't be more excited (I know, who gets excited about a front door?!) Thanks Mom/Mark & Grams for the gift cards that went towards the door!

Saturday night at Cab West with the DD- it was a huge Valley reunion!

A Christmas Miracle! All of us looking at the same time...

Meany head, Truman, took Breck's bottle and he was so sad!
