christmas gift ideas

Lately I have been obsessed with figuring out which gifts I would like to give/receive for Christmas. I am more excited to GIVE gifts than ever before. I think the fact that Justin and I are now married and finally feeling settled into our house makes me feel more adultish and therefore more excited to give than receive? At any rate... I've been hounding people for ideas because I want to make sure their gifts are just right! I've had a hard time coming up with things that I would like to get for Christmas so I created a gift list. The gift list is a mixture of things I already own/love that might make nice gifts for others and things I would secretly like to have. A win/win for everyone!

p.s. I started this post on 11.19.10 and thought I would come back to it in a few days. Well, a few days turned into 2 weeks..oops. So here I am, listening to Michael Buble Holiday on Pandora (thanks for the recommend Sissy) to put myself in the mood to virtual shop!

2011 Calendar from Papaya

I have the 2010 version of this gem and I adore it!! The pages are filled with beautiful artwork and plenty of room to write down life's most important events - in my case that consists of bills to pay and trips back to Iowa, ha. The best part is there is a mini file folder on the inside of the front cover that is perfect for coupons or other loose papers that need a home. I would looove to have the 2011 version - you can buy it for me here ->

Patagonia Lugano Boots

I just got these boots in the mail yesterday and I am super excited to start wearing them (they are technically from my mom so I will wait until 12.25 to break them in). At any rate these boots have outstanding reviews on line, are warm and waterproof - what more do you need? The best part? I got them on sale for $70 instead of $160... yay!

Kate Spade Marivaux Cosmetics Case

I suppose I can admit I don't need this but a girl can certainly want, right? For $65 bucks I feel like this item is on the cusp of being a little too expensive...whatever, I happen to really like it. A little Kate can go a lonnnng way :)

Lululemon Everywhere Gym Bag

I have a thing for bags and this one ranks at the top of my wish list. I saw it when we were in NYC and I immediately wanted to bring it home with me. For $88 bucks this is the ultimate workout bag. Tons of storage, quality construction and waterproof material make it the ideal workout bag. If I actually worked out then I could justify the purchase. Until then, consider it on the wish list.

Bedding for my Office

Originally I thought I wanted this cute persimmon colored quilt from West Elm for the twin bed in my office. I opted for this bedding below from BB&B via my momma for Christmas (are we noticing a trend here? I pick out my gifts and then magically end up under the tree? Me like). I'm waiting until I bring it home and bust it out before I make the final decision to go the BB&B route... thoughts?
The bedding belongs in this room...

The best gift ever? The present Justin recently gave to himself... welcome to your new home, ipad.

Welp, thats all I've got for now... if I run across anything else I/you can't live without I will be sure to post about it :)

sunday funday

today's activities at the atwood house included:

-test driving a new church here in the twin cities - its called eagle brook and it averages 12,000 worshipers per week. wow. the size of the church and the style of worship are very different from what we grew up with. we thought today's sermon was good and we are excited to return in a couple of weeks!

-raking MORE leaves and playing lots of fetch with dog

- making homemade chicken noodle soup... it was so good our friend ben drove all the way from uptown to partake!

- scrapbooking! i love to scrapbook but not necessarily with pictures. i collect brochures, magazines, ticket stubs, receipts, etc. whenever we go on vacation and then i make a mixed media (except its pretty much all paper, but i like to think it looks like a cool/funky piece of mixed media art) scrapbook full of all the crap we would normally throw away!

happy sunday :)
