happy new year

I've never been one to really give 100% at much in life. I generally live by the rule that if I can give 80 or 90% and get by, why try harder? Sounds pretty lame to admit but its the truth. Hence the reason I was never a huge believer in new years resolutions. Even if I made resolutions in years past, I never stuck with them past February! Now that I have a husband, dog, house and job, I feel an urge to actually give 100%... shocking, I know! I guess this is what it means to grown up, huh?! At any rate, I went shopping today and unknowing purchased a few items that will help me reach my "life resolutions". Yeah, screw the whole new year resolutions, I'm going for full on lifestyle changes. I'm in it for the long haul (so, April if I'm lucky).

I purchased a binder for all 3 recipes I've printed off the internet. Now I have a stylish place to keep yummy/healthy recipes I come across. Think I can collect 50 recipes by the end of the year? I certainly hope so but here's to trying!

A new calendar (I heart calendars). Justin doesn't understand the need for a paper calendar with tools such as google calendar/ical/and the calendar on my blackberry. All of those electronic calendars are great and all, but I like to look at my week ahead and know whats coming up! There's something to be said for writing down events the old fashion way... it makes me much more excited for them!

Weights. Yeah, in 2011 I'm actually going to workout ALL YEAR LONG. I did great last Jan/Feb/March but totally and completely fell off the wagon once the weather got nice out. I am going to do a mix of home videos and trips to the gym. I'm gonna need some serious motivation to make this one happen!

Breck really wanted to play with my weights! Maybe its because they look just like his toy!

Other goals include but are not limited to -
- Read 26 books this year. I've never done it before but I believe its very possible.
- SAVE SAVE SAVE- we have many projects to do on the house and that takes MONEY MONEY MONEY!
- Complete said projects including the basement, fence and front/back patios
- Travel

That's all I can think of for now. Better not add anymore for fear I wont be able to stick with what I already have going on!

Here's to a happy and productive new year!
