Twlight :)

Like every other young adult female, I am SO excited to see Twilight!!!! My friend Nancy and I already purchased our tickets for the 8:30 show on Friday. BAHHHH I have been waiting months for the dang movie to come out. I feel like I should make some sort of embarrassing t-shirt that says "I <3 Twilight" or else I might not fit in ;)

Last week of classes for the semester
This past week has been dead week at ISU. Supposedly, teachers are not allowed to have any tests/ projects due. Well we all know thats a lie because it is always the busiest week of the semester! Even though I had a 3 projects, a test and various other things to do, I still managed to find some time to have fun! The first pic is of my HRI friends after we finished eating lunch together in the Tearoom ( we had greek pizza and it was delicious!). The second picture is the last day of Mike and I being Pres and VP.. good times in the office! The next two are pictures from Es Tas after our last HRI class of the semester! The last pic is from the get together my London class had last night. It has been a great week!

3 week hiatus
So I just realized its been 3 weeks since my last blog. I decided now would be the perfect time to post something considering I am supposed to be writing a 10 page research paper on foreigners in early modern London ( the only downside of my trip to London is this paper). Anywho, nothing very exciting has been going on other than jobs. I got an internship at ITA Group in West Des Moines. I am super excited about the opportunity and I think it will be a really good learning expereience and a fun summer! Even better news, Justin accepted a job in Minneapolis with Boston Scientific. He starts May 19th so the next month will be full of packing and trying to find him a place to live. Even BETTER news, only 3 weeks left in the semester and spring has finally arrived in Iowa... its about time! My mom is getting married in less than 2 weeks which just seems crazy ( i will post lots of pics :) Ok, I'm done procrastinating...

LONDON!
The past couple weeks have been quite the adventure. Exactly 2 weeks ago I was on a plane from Chicago to London..my first trans-atlantic flight! I thought I was going to freak out on the plane so I packed a few Zanex and dramamine just in case haha. I did surprisingly well with the flights both to and from London even though I didn't sleep a lick. We arrived in London at 11 am on Friday morning, went through customs ( we didnt get out passports stamped :( apparently technology is far too advanced and scanners have replaced them ). A bus picked our group up from Heathrow and took us to our hotel right next to Notting Hill and Kensington Gardens. From this point, the trip is a complete blur. We managed to keep busy from morning til night..everyday! Here is a short list of things we did while in London.
*Saw Spamalot and Wicked.
* Took a boat tour down the Thames
* Toured Tate Modern Collection, British Museum and the National Gallery
* London Eye
* Went to Greenwich ( where the prime meridian originated...this was my favorite thing we did!)
* Parliament, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Trafalagar Square
* Easter Service at St. Paul's Cathedral
* Portabello Road in Notting Hill
* Found the Travel Book Store the movie Notting Hill was based off of
* Found platform 9 3/4 at King's Cross Station ..for all you Harry Potter lovers
* Went to Abbey Road
* Ate Bangladeshi, Greek, Italian, Chinese, and Mediterranean food.
* Ate fish and chips ..3 times :P
* Spent a day in the seaside town of Brighton and Cambridge
London is by far the most eye opening and memorable trip of my life! I'm so thankful for this opportunity and I can't wait until my next chance to go back to Europe!

Bugs & Fire
Justin's cousins turned 3 this weekend and they are the most adorable kids ever. When their mom asked them what they wanted on their cake the said "bugs and fire" aka. candles and plastic bugs! Here is a video of them doing some moves they learned at gymnastics.

Brad Paisley
I got to go see Brad Paisley last week! Justin and I had sooo much fun! Here is a clip of Online! Next to Patrick Dempsey ( who will always be #1 in my heart) Chad Wicks is my new favorite celeb crush. I think he is TOO cute! Justin says he is a little femy ( the black scarf and unbuttoned black shirt probably didn't help his case with the fellas). I wish I could go to the concet all over again!

I see London, I see France...
In a few short weeks I will be on plane to London! This is my first trip to Europe and I am completely nervous/excited! We will be there for 12 whole days over spring break. Since this is a school related trip, we have class Monday-Thursday and then a few days before and after to travel and/or sight see. Today was our orientation ( we finally got to talk about modern day London and not London 1500-1700). As of right now, a couple of us are planning to take a 2 day trip to Paris and hopefully a short day trip to Stonehedge! There is so much stuff I want to see when we are there, I really hope we can squeeze it all in. My favorite helpful hints from my British professor.." 1. Don't yell patriotic statements when drunk at the pub 2. If you are going to get arrested, wait til midnight of the last day before we leave so that the police will let you go since you are leaving the country the next day".
Cheers (I am just practicing :)

I need some sunshine and summertime asap
I am convinced that Iowa weather has gotten significantly worse since I was a child. This morning my car informed me that it was yet again in the - digits. The radio said the wind-chill was -28! I seriously can't take the blistering cold and icy roads/sidewalks. If I only had a heated garage or a parking spot on campus...life would be a LOT easier! Driving back from Minneapolis on Sunday was quite the adventure. The roads were still really icy and we counted so many cars in the ditch, thankfully mine stayed on the road :) I hope the snow lasts long enough to pull off the Campustown Rail Jam, then I am going to wish for nothing but sunshine and SUMMER!
