Miss Independent

Preface: Last Wednesday while on vaca with the fam, we did a bus tour of Brussels and rode around until we finally hopped off at the Grand Place. We wandered in and out of different shops until we reached the Mannekin Pis (mom really gets a kick when I pronounce the name "Man Can Piss" .. I would like to hear her try :) Anyways, we strolled into a "cool" tourist shop, if those really exist, and found some super cute tote bags! Everyone decided to take small carry on bags on the next leg of our trip to Amsterdam, so Mom and Marin needed a weekend bag to replace their much-too-large-for-train-travel bags. All of us thought the bags were adorable, but only Marin and Mom bought them.

The bags worked great and left Grammy, Kelli and I wishing we would have bought one ourselves. fast forward 1 week...

I finally broke my daily routine (I've been going strong for 2 months of sleep, eat, internet, workout, eat, internet, sleep) and went to the Grand Place ( BY MYSELF :) in search of the crazy bags! I usually stick close by our apartment, but since I've been to the Grand Place before and I really wanted a tote, I jumped on the metro and successfully found the tourist shop without a. getting soaked by the rain - b. ruining my umbrella because of the ferocious wind - c. getting hit by a car while crossing the street with my hood up, umbrella stuck out in front of me like a shield - d. getting lost. yay!!

Here is a pic of the Reisenthel bags

P.s. when I went to purchase all 3 bags, the store owner asked if I was a "big shopper" - embarrassed, I had to explain they were gifts for my family who had just visited, blah blah blah

Aww, look at them all cute in a row! I'm so proud of you for going all by your lonesome and so excited for my new bag! Thanks for doing that... I can't believe I didn't just get one in the first place!
